Have a drink, sit for long, gazing at the beauty, for from the days of Noah, they were marrying and giving away in marriage. What has happened to this generation?
Remember long ago , when we sat and talked, when we call out the issues of the heart, when we walk together and shared the deepest secrets in the Garden of Love.
Laughter was the atmosphere, crying was never our portion, we had no fear, shame was absent, love was all we knew.
The Fountain was in our midst, we knew each other well, we were formed and made for each other. Made in the image of the ageless One, an eternal love was for us to keep . Though we were naked, we were free and unashamed.
Then what happened? Why do we now look upon each other with lustful desires. Who separated us from our innocent days? Now we see no longer our hearts, we looked no longer alike.
Come quickly! Sow on the fig leaves! Cover the faces, shun the fellowship; lest He sees our intention. Hide from Him, keep Him at bay, for His countenance is now unbearable.
But now who really sees us? Who calls us out by name? How can we be intimate again, if not through love?
Love! What does it even look like? How does it really feel? How does taste? Where can it come from ,if not from the One who bonded us together in the beginning?
The One, who saw man in his struggles, in his loneliness and saw that it was not good for Him to be alone.
The One who put the man to sleep and took out his rib, made him a help meet, beautiful as the morning sun, and put them in His presence.
For we went out of your presence once, a flaming swords surrounded us, naked and afraid, alone out we went to the unknown wilderness.
But by the work of Your Kinsman Redeemer , the One that came for our redemption , sent to take our place, and set us in a place of prominence. Finally in your presence, there is grace.
Now we are complete. Man and woman in marriage, two cords that became one, and the third cord.
And although our cord may ravel at times by our imperfections, yet You carry us through the rough paths.
Though our cord may be tangle by the cares of this life, yet You untangled us in Your Strength, Your love and Your grace.
You are the third cord that is unraveled untangled and unbroken.
A three-fold cord is not easily broken.
