The Sanctimonious Saint

Religion has always been a stumbling block since Christ’s days and is still is even today. The greatest hindrance for the unsaved people not coming to Christ is not only by their sin or the devil but believers who are not exemplifying Christ but rather they choose wholeheartedly to be devoted to some religious beliefs.

By doing so, they will assert their own laws and tradition as the model of christianity rather than the word of God. As a young man, observing these traditions, it was clear to me that religion is far from Christ's teaching.

Christ certainly did not come down from heaven to give us another religion but a relationship with Himself and God the Father. 

God who detest religion is by far the last person to give us this false sense of security.

What God offers is a new life and nothing more. God has been promising a new life through His Son Jesus the Christ and not morality or religion.

And through this relationship we have eternal life and fellowship with God.

A Journey with God

The journey with God is far different than what we usually envision in similar journeys. When you decide to chart the course with God, you will encounter  many obstacles and naysayers, even in your own household.

Family members are your closest companion but in the journey with God, they can become your greatest obstacles.

God gives visions that can at times be incomprehensible to others around you.. Depending on people, especially those closer to you can at times work against you or even cripple God's calling on your life.

Remember that as Jesus says,  “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house.”

Sometimes you have to trust God even when everyone doubts you including family members.

Do consult with your family and friends but know that despite their opinions, one with God is the majority. 

Don't depend on your family and friends to become your best cheerleaders, even Jesus' family had trouble comprehending the outcome of his earthly journey.

Leave them alone and begin to walk with God. If you keep depending on your family or someone, you will never get to the destination where God wants you to be in.

Also leave the comfortable place alone and walk with God. When you live in comfort, you remain stagnated. You are to become an eagle not just like any other bird that don't fly . A goose that eats from the hand will never migrate.
