Talents and Anointing: Distinction and Sanctification

Maturity in faith is bestowed upon us as a divine gift from God, but it is developed through the practice of discipline. God, in His refining process, plays a crucial role in nurturing this gift within us. He employs various means to discipline us, shaping and molding us to become His sons and daughters.

There are individuals who possess natural talents and gifts, yet lack the necessary refinement and maturity to effectively utilize them in their respective areas. While talent is an inherent ability, the anointing is a spiritual gift. Both can be imparted to individuals, but they can also be distorted if not sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

When talented individuals showcase their abilities, it often caters more to the desires of the flesh. Similarly, if the anointing of God is not employed in accordance with His timing, it may not yield the desired results. However, when one dedicates themselves and patiently waits upon God's timing, both talent and anointing can be used to bring glory to God.
