The Hand That Rocks the Cradle

Draw me nearer my Lord, I am falling away, I have known You and have seen Your goodness. I still believe but now am suffocating.

I am drowning in tears, looking up for answers, surely your are powerful and just. The speed of light can't compare Your swift hand. No one can fathom the size of your heart, for you delight in mercy and arbor the wicked.

I saw the wicked rise in power, with his horns, he scoffed and trample the weak, he is like an iron, walks with his nose pointed at the heavens, despisers of good and a lover of evil but in his heart he has no rest.

Outside the gates I see no mercy, the banks of the river is filled with blood and tears. Though in my heart I know that you are nearer and hear the cries of your children.

But Lord why do you move so slowly? Surely I need wisdom and knowledge to see your works and stand encouraged, for your hand is even more apparent in the valley of death.

But sovereign Lord, why am I in so much distress? I see the seasons of my good days closing in on me. I can't see your hand in my life.

But though my mind decieve me, let my heart testify of your goodness. Let the one who disagrees come with hard evidence, let the preacher man preach as one with the oracle of God, let the deciever by silent and eat dust.

God is in the midst of His people, He will never let the righteous be moved. His hand will rest upon them and in His own time, He will give them rest.
