Profession of faith

Professing faith refers to individuals who claim to be Christians, having studied the teachings of Christ, but have not established a personal relationship with him. Despite professing to have received eternal life, they lack a strong connection with Christ. Picture a ship that docks without properly anchoring (that is, abiding in Christ), and a strong wind suddenly hits, pushing the ship out to sea amidst stormy weather.
Similarly, a Christian who accepts Christ without grounding their faith in a personal relationship with him is not a true believer, but rather someone who has been exposed to the faith without truly practicing it.
